Amanda McDanielMy name is Amanda McDaniel. I am a student intern of Kennesaw State University participating in the Urban Education Option. I am married to a United States Marine and we have a beautiful new born daughter. I enjoy being a wife and mother, and cannot wait to begin teaching.
I believe in differentiated instruction and how a student can be both gifted and learning disabled. I follow Bloom's taxonomy and Erikson's developmental stages. I believe in both continuous and discontinuous development and in a hierarchy of needs. I understand we live in a global technologically advanced world and I feel it is important and necessary to give students access to broaden their technology skills. Students being knowledgeable and capable of using technology allows them to participate and excel in basic everyday activities such as researching on the internet or typing reports for class. In this portfolio I will post ten projects that I complete for ITEC 3100: Improving Learning with Technology in the Elementary Classroom. These projects are listed as follows:
o Instructional Software
o Productivity Tools
o Online Projects
o Special Content Area
These projects are designed to better my understanding of how technology can facilitate learning in the classroom and I hope will help parents, teachers, and administrators alike better understand how technology can improve teaching and learning in the elementary classroom.
